How to repot Margaret

How to repot Margaret

1. Situations where potting is required

There are several situations in which Margaret needs to be repotted: First, when the seedlings you have grafted grow to a certain size, you can change to a larger pot to meet its continued growth needs. There is another situation where the flowers you buy from the market are already in bloom, but the pots you bring back may not meet your needs or may not be beautiful enough. By repotting it, we can make it meet our ornamental requirements.

2. Preparation before repotting

When repotting, you need to prepare a suitable flower pot, expanded clay or gravel. Its function is to be placed at the bottom of the flower pot, which is conducive to drainage of the entire flower pot. There is also suitable nutrient soil, which requires a loose, fertile matrix rich in organic matter.

3. Repotting Method

First, place a layer of expanded clay at the bottom of the pot and remove it from its original pot. If it is a plastic pot, you can gently pinch the pot, or shake it lightly with a knife horizontally on the table, and you can take it out intact. After taking it out, use scissors or a root relaxer to loosen the soil at the edge of the flowerpot and trim off the residual roots at the edge. However, it is important to keep the original root protection in the center of the seedling and not let it fall apart.

Put soil in the flowerpot, but don't fill it too full. Place the seedlings in the pot and adjust the angle appropriately according to the condition of the seedlings so that the flower is exactly in the middle of the pot. Gently press the soil and then gently lift the seedlings. The roots will be more stretched inside the pot, which will not cause the roots to curl up and is more conducive to the growth of new roots. After repotting, water it thoroughly immediately and place it in a cool place without direct sunlight. After one or two days, it will gradually be exposed to the sun and will resume its growth.
