How to grow water lilies

How to grow water lilies

1. Breeding conditions

1. Soil: Although water lilies usually float on the water, they also need soil. For breeding, it is recommended that you use neutral soil rich in organic matter.

2. Water use: The water used for growing it should not be too deep, generally between 25-30cm is enough. If it is a large plant, the water depth can be increased as appropriate. In addition, the water must be clean and free of impurities, and it must be replenished in time after evaporation.

3. Light: It likes sunlight very much, so when raising it, be sure to place it in a place with sufficient light. When it blooms in summer, you also need to put it in a sunny place. Don't put it in semi-shade for fear of it getting burned.

4. Temperature: The temperature most suitable for its growth is 25-30℃. It is best to adjust the temperature within this range, which can make it grow better. In addition, when the temperature is low in winter, certain measures need to be taken to keep it warm.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Propagation by division: Around May, cut off the healthy rhizomes containing new buds, insert them into the culture soil, add shallow water, and wait for rooting.

2. Seed propagation: First collect the seeds, and wait until March or April, then sow the seeds into the soil, cover with shallow soil, press tightly, then inject shallow water, and wait for germination.

3. Timely pruning

After the water lily blooms, there may be some withered flowers left on it. At this time, they need to be cut off in time, otherwise it will not only affect the effect of Guangshang, but also continuously consume the nutrients of the plant.
