What fertilizer to use for Aspidistra

What fertilizer to use for Aspidistra

1. What fertilizer does it use?

1. Soak soybeans in water or ferment rapeseed meal with water

When applying fertilizer, you can use water that has been used to soak soybeans, or if you can find rapeseed meal, you can add water to it and ferment it. After fermentation, you can add water and apply it. The fertilizer effect is very good.

2. Nitrogen fertilizer

During the growth process, nitrogen fertilizer is the most indispensable, so we can add a little nitrogen fertilizer to promote the growth of its branches and leaves.

3. Acidic fertilizers or acidic substances

It is an acid-loving flower, and the soil will gradually become alkaline with long-term watering, so it will begin to turn yellow. This phenomenon will first appear on the branches and new leaves. As the phenomenon becomes more and more serious, the entire leaf veins will turn from green to white, the edges of the leaves will become burnt, and gradually fall off. In severe cases, the entire plant will die. Therefore, at this time we have to apply some acidic fertilizer or acidic substances to change this phenomenon, or we can apply alum fertilizer water frequently.

4. Base fertilizer

When potting or dividing it, apply enough base fertilizer to the bottom of the pot. Normally, apply organic fertilizer once every half a month.

2. Fertilization method

No matter which kind of fertilizer you apply, you need to master the correct method, such as applying less fertilizer, not too much, otherwise it will burn the roots. Usually during the growing season, you can apply a little thin fertilizer to it 1 to 2 times. During the dormant period, stop fertilizing and just water. In addition, fertilization needs to be done on a sunny day, and the soil in the pot should be relatively dry. It is best to loosen the soil before fertilization, and then water it the next morning after fertilization.
