How to water carnations

How to water carnations

1. Water thoroughly

When carnations are first planted, they need to be watered thoroughly. After planting, follow this rule for watering, and do not water unless the surface soil is dry. It is particularly important to note that when carnations are in their peak growth period, the amount of watering must be increased, but not too much, otherwise the carnations will suffer from root rot.

2. Is it enough water?

Press the soil in the pot with your finger. If it feels moist and sticky on your hand, it means it has been watered enough. If you press the soil and it feels very dry and without moisture, but not damp, it means you need to water it again.

3. Special Circumstances

When the weather gets hotter in summer, you need to increase the amount of watering to keep the soil in the pot moist. When it is cloudy and rainy with heavy precipitation, you need to stop watering.
