How to grow Anthurium

How to grow Anthurium

1. Suitable temperature

It is very shade-tolerant, likes warmth and is afraid of cold, so when raising it, it is best to control the temperature between 19 and 25 degrees. The temperature must not be lower than 13 degrees or higher than 32 degrees. If it is too cold in winter, you can move it back into the house or cover it with a plastic bag to prevent it from frostbite.

2. Watering should be timely

It likes moist places and is afraid of drought. In spring and summer, you can water it once every 1 to 2 days to keep the soil in the pot moist but without any accumulation of water. Then when it blooms, water it less frequently. When the temperature is high in summer, spray some water on its leaves every morning. Then in autumn and winter, adjust the watering frequency appropriately, about once a week is enough. However, do not water it at night because the temperature is too low at night and it will be frozen.

3. The soil should be loose

It likes loose soil. When choosing soil, we can buy it directly from the flower shop, or we can prepare it ourselves, so that we can provide it with sufficient nutrients.

4. Reasonable lighting

It likes cool places and is not suitable for too much sunlight, but it cannot be without any sunlight, because proper light can promote its growth. During its flowering period, the light can be reduced, but in winter, it is best to place it in a place with plenty of light and there is no need to shade it.

5. Fertilize frequently

Proper fertilization can promote its growth. We can apply a little nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to it once every 5 to 10 days. In addition, fertilization can be combined with watering, and the best time to apply is in the morning or evening.

6. Prevent and control pests and diseases

During its growth period, it is always prone to some diseases and pests. At this time, we can spray it with fungicide, and the best time is once a month.
