1. Leaves

The leaves of Perilla are broadly ovate or round, about 7 to 13 cm long and 4.5 to 10 cm wide. The leaves are membranous or herbaceous, green or purple on both sides, and the petiole is 3 to 5 cm long.

The flowers of Perilla are in umbels, about 1.5 to 15 cm long, densely covered with long soft hairs, the bracts are broadly ovate or nearly round, about 4 mm long and wide, the pedicels are about 1.5 mm long, densely covered with soft hairs, the calyx is bell-shaped, about 3 mm long, the corolla is white or purple-red, about 3 to 4 mm long, and the corolla tube is very short, about 2 to 2.5 mm long.
