How to grow azalea

How to grow azalea

1. Environment

In order to maintain azalea well, it needs to be given a slightly shaded environment with bright scattered light. The light should not be too strong, nor too dark.

2. Humidity

Azaleas also require relatively high humidity to grow. We generally recommend that the humidity for home maintenance be above 75%.

3. Watering

When caring for the plant, do not water it too much and just keep the soil in the pot slightly moist.

4. Fertilization

What we also need to pay attention to when caring for azalea is that it relatively likes fertilizer but is afraid of concentrated fertilizer, so during the growing season we can add a little thin fertilizer to the water each time we water it, so that it can grow better.

5. Temperature

Rhododendron likes coolness, and too high temperature will inhibit its growth. It can survive the winter normally at a general wintering temperature of around 5 degrees.

6. Notes

Another thing we need to pay attention to when caring for azaleas is that we must promptly cut off the remaining flowers after they have finished blooming to prevent them from bearing fruit. Azaleas are prone to diseases and pests such as leaflet disease, swollen leaf disease, and web bugs during care. When diseases and pests occur, promptly cutting off the affected areas or using drugs to control them can achieve better results.
