When to transplant rose cuttings

When to transplant rose cuttings

1. Transplanting time

The rose seedlings grown by cuttings need to wait for a period of time for the roots to grow before they can be transplanted. If the transplant is done too early, the root system is still very young and tender and cannot withstand the impact of the transplant process. It will be damaged, making it difficult for the new plant to survive. Specifically, you can wait until the new plant grows more than 4 leaves, which is about two months later, and then transplant it.

2. Transplanting method

1. Flower soil selection: Since the roots of new plants are relatively tender, it is best to choose flower soil with good air permeability and larger internal gaps for transplanting. This will help it breathe better and prevent it from rotting.

2. Specific method: Put the prepared flower soil into a flowerpot with good air permeability, then carefully take out the new plant, along with the soil attached to it, and plant it in the new flower soil, then gently compact the soil surface with your hands.

3. Acclimate the seedlings: The newly transplanted plants are relatively fragile, so they need to be placed in a place with weak light and no strong wind to allow them to grow slowly. During this period, you need to pay more attention to the condition of the flower soil, water it in time to keep it moist. If the surrounding air is dry, you can also spray some water to increase the humidity. Once it has adapted, you can then maintain it normally.
