Lucky Bamboo Growth Environment Conditions and Requirements

The lucky bamboo plant is native to tropical Asia. It likes to grow in loose, fertile acidic soil and is often found in shady, humid, and high-temperature environments. The plant has poor cold resistance and is suitable for growing under bright and sufficient scattered light.

Lucky bamboo growth temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for lucky bamboo is 18-24℃. The plant has very poor cold resistance. When the temperature is below 13℃, the plant will go into dormancy. The minimum temperature for wintering must be above 10℃.

Lucky Bamboo Growth Humidity

Lucky bamboo likes a humid climate environment, and the air humidity should be above 60%. When the temperature is too high in summer, it needs to be sprayed with water to replenish moisture, and the soil should also be kept moist.

Lucky bamboo prefers well-drained sandy soil or alluvial clay, preferably acidic soil. When caring for it, you can mix leaf mold and garden soil in a 1:1 ratio.

Lucky Bamboo Growth Cycle and Process

Spring is the peak growth period for lucky bamboo. After a period of cultivation, the plant will grow white roots, which will then grow longer and longer and look like a cluster. New leaves will grow on the bamboo nodes, and the leaves will become more upright and green. It can survive for 2-4 years.
