Phoebe nanmu is mainly distributed in shady and moist valleys, depressions and river banks in subtropical areas at an altitude of 1000-1500 meters in Sichuan, Guizhou and other places in China. The average annual temperature of Phoebe nanmu's origin is about 17°C, and the annual rainfall is 1400-1600 mm. It is mostly distributed in shady and moist valleys, depressions and river banks, and can tolerate intermittent short-term flooding.

The suitable growth temperature for golden nanmu is 17 degrees, and the optimal temperature is around 17-20 degrees. It is not cold-resistant and cannot grow in winter. If the temperature drops below 17 degrees, it will slowly stop growing. If you don’t take good insulation measures in winter, you will basically not be able to survive the winter.

Growth humidity of golden nanmu

Phoebe nanmu seedlings are suitable for growing in an environment with a humidity of 50%-70%. When caring for the plants, they should be replenished with water every 2 to 3 days to keep the potting soil moist. At the same time, 5 hours of scattered light should be provided for the Phoebe nanmu every day to promote the growth of the seedlings.

In the southern region, you can choose mid-November or around February to April in spring. Try to plant on a cloudy day. It is also okay to plant when it rains lightly, as long as it is not too dry.

The growth cycle of Phoebe nanmu is about sixty to seventy years. The growth rate of Phoebe nanmu is slow, and the plant usually needs to be maintained for about fifty years before it can enter the growth period.
