How to propagate the smooth sailing flower and what to pay attention to

Smooth sailing breeding method

The common propagation methods of Yifanfengshun are mainly division propagation, sowing propagation, tissue culture and cutting propagation. Its seeds can be propagated, and when the seeds are mature, they can be picked and the full and substantial seeds can be selected for planting.

Smooth sailing breeding time

All-round good luck likes a warm growing environment. The temperature suitable for germination is above 15 degrees. It is best to breed in spring and autumn. The low temperature in winter and the high temperature in summer are not suitable for seed germination, and the survival rate of planting is very low.

Smooth sailing breeding method

Propagation of Smooth Sailing by Division

Choose a two-year-old, strong and healthy plant so that it will have more suckers and will be easier to divide. Stop watering for two to three days before removing it from the pot. This will keep the soil in the pot dry and make the operation easier.

When removing the plant from the pot, be careful and slow so as not to damage the roots. After taking it out, remove most of the old soil, use a sharp knife to cut the rhizome at the base, and divide it into several small plants. Each plant needs to have more than 3 buds. Apply charcoal ash on the cut, plant them in pots separately, and take good care of them.

Smooth sailing sowing and propagation

You can buy some smooth sailing seeds directly from the seed store, or you can collect seeds that have been artificially pollinated. After they are mature, you can pick them and sow them immediately after picking. Keep the temperature at around 25 degrees Celsius, prepare the soil, sow the seeds in it, and pay attention to maintenance and management in the later stage.

Things to note when breeding smoothly

The growth rate of the lucky charm plant is quite fast and the pot needs to be repotted every 1-2 years. When repotting, you can also trim the roots, which will be beneficial for later flowering.
