How to cultivate Phnom Penh Orchid

Golden Edged Mo Orchid is an orchid plant. Its propagation methods include division and tissue culture. Golden Edged Mo Orchid prefers semi-shady environment. The suitable temperature for growth is between 20~28℃. Generally, the soil suitable for growth requires rich humus, slightly acidic, loose and breathable, and water-conserving and fertilizer-retaining soil.

It is recommended to use soft humus soil to cultivate Golden Edge Mo Orchid. It can receive 2 to 3 hours of light in the morning in spring and winter, and provide appropriate shade when the light is strong in autumn and summer. The temperature in winter should not be lower than 3°C, and in summer it should not be higher than 30°C. The potting soil should be kept moist at ordinary times, but no water should accumulate.

Watering method

Golden Edge Mo Orchid likes a warm growing environment. The humidity of the potting soil can be controlled, but water must not accumulate. It is recommended to water it once every 4 to 7 days in the morning in winter and spring, and once every 2 to 3 days after the sun sets in summer and autumn.

Fertilization method

Fertilizing the Golden Edged Mo Orchid generally starts in late spring and stops in late autumn. Fertilization can be applied when the temperature is between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius, about once every 20 days, and a small amount of clean water needs to be sprayed after fertilizing to prevent the fertilizer from getting on the leaves and causing rot.

Pruning methods

During the growth process of Golden Edged Black Orchid, the orchid leaves must be trimmed frequently. The old leaves should be removed immediately when they are yellow and withered. The ventilation is good and the leaf tips should also be removed when they are dry. In particular, the leaves infested with diseases and insects must be removed immediately to avoid infection.

Precautions for breeding of Phnom Penh Molan

During the cultivation process of Golden Edge Mo Orchid, it is necessary to avoid sunlight. It can be placed on the east, south, or west balconies for management. The east and west balconies have good cultivation effects, while the south balcony should avoid excessive sunlight.

The ornamental value of Golden Edged Mo Orchid is also limited. The best viewing time is 5 to 7 years after cultivation. If it is not repotted, its ornamental value will decrease after 2 years and it must be repotted and the soil changed immediately.
