What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Dendrobium?

Dendrobium flower cultivation method

Dendrobium, also known as golden hairpin flower and spider flower, belongs to the orchid family. Its propagation methods include high bud propagation, cutting propagation, division propagation and seed propagation. It has many varieties and can generally grow to a height of 10-30 cm. It prefers a cool and humid growing environment, and requires a good ventilation environment during maintenance.

When planting Dendrobium, loose, fertile and well-drained soil is usually used. It prefers a cool growing environment.

Therefore, you should avoid direct sunlight exposure at ordinary times, keep the temperature between 15-30 degrees, avoid water accumulation when watering, and fertilize every 10 days.

Watering method

Dendrobium flowers need to be watered appropriately in spring and autumn. Generally, they should be watered when the soil is relatively dry, otherwise water will accumulate. In summer and winter, the leaves need to be sprayed with water to keep them moist.

Fertilization method

Dendrobium flowers are generally fertilized when the temperature is between 15-30 degrees. Some nitrogen fertilizers need to be applied during the growth period, and some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be applied when bearing fruit. Don't apply too much at one time.

Pruning methods

When pruning Dendrobium, it is usually done when the plant shape is not growing well. Usually, some overgrown branches and diseased branches need to be cut off to allow it to have sufficient nutrients for growth.

Precautions for Dendrobium cultivation

Although Dendrobium prefers a semi-shady growing environment, it needs appropriate sunlight during maintenance. However, it is necessary to avoid exposure to strong sunlight, otherwise it will affect its growth. It can accept long-term sunlight in winter.
