How to care for strawberry potted plants in summer

How to care for strawberry potted plants in summer

Maintenance tips

Strawberries themselves do not like high temperatures. When the temperature is high, strawberries may show some poor growth phenomena, such as withering or even death. In summer, the temperature is high and the light is strong, so you must take preventive measures in time.

In the summer, in order for strawberries to survive safely, timely shading and cooling are needed. In fact, in summer, people usually let strawberries continue to grow or put them into hibernation. These are two different maintenance methods.

Continued growth maintenance

If you want strawberries to continue growing in summer, the main thing is to provide shade and reduce temperature.

Generally, strawberries grown outdoors need to be shaded, usually by covering them with a shade net. It is best to keep them covered throughout the summer. Strawberries are relatively shade-tolerant, so there is no need to worry.

If you are growing strawberries on a balcony, you can place them on the windowsill, keep them out of the sun, and keep the soil moist and the environment ventilated, and there will be no problem with the strawberries.

Of course, you can also put the strawberries directly into the air-conditioned room to maintain a stable temperature.

Dormant maintenance

In addition, in the summer, you can also put strawberries into dormancy directly.

Take out the strawberries when the temperature is high, clean them, and then wrap them in plastic wrap and put them in the refrigerator to put them into dormancy. When the temperature starts to drop in September, the strawberries can be taken out and replanted.
