Mangosteen Growing Conditions

Mangosteen has a strong adaptability to soil and is more suitable for growing in sandy loam rich in organic matter. It needs to have a certain degree of drainage and requires sufficient water environment during maintenance.

Mangosteen is a tropical plant. When it grows, the temperature needs to be kept between 25-35 degrees. If the temperature is below 20 degrees, its growth will be inhibited, and if it is above 40 degrees, it will cause its death.

Mangosteen Growth Process

Mangosteen seeds are usually propagated parthenogenetically. The flowers, stems and leaves need to be cut off for cuttings to allow them to grow into complete plants. This method of reproduction is generally called cutting propagation. The rhizomes used are called cuttings. It is necessary to graft the buds of one plant onto another plant.

Mangosteen planting time and method

Mangosteen is usually planted from February to May every year. When planting, loose, fertile and well-drained soil is needed, so that it will grow faster. When caring for it, there must be sufficient sunlight and appropriate amount of watering.
