The growth environment and local conditions of asparagus fern

Asparagus fern growth environment and conditions

Like many plants, asparagus fern likes to grow in a warm and humid climate. During the maintenance period, the best temperature is between 15-25℃. It is shade-tolerant, so do not expose the plant to direct sunlight. It is not cold-resistant, so the maintenance temperature in winter should be above 10℃. Asparagus fern originally grew in South Africa and is distributed in both the north and south of my country.

Asparagus fern growth conditions

Asparagus fern likes a shady, moist and well-ventilated environment. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile and well-drained sandy loam. The indoor temperature should be controlled between 12-18 degrees. When it exceeds 20 degrees, ventilation and heat dissipation are required. The wintering temperature is 5-10℃. It likes a semi-shaded environment and is not resistant to strong light exposure. Therefore, shade is needed in summer and full-sun maintenance in winter.

Asparagus fern growth temperature

Asparagus fern likes a slightly warm environment. The indoor maintenance temperature needs to be maintained between 12-18 degrees. If the temperature is above 20 degrees, ventilation and heat dissipation are needed. The wintering temperature is 5-10 degrees.

The growth process of asparagus fern

Asparagus fern grows very fast. The branches that grow out at the beginning are very light in color, but there are no leaves growing on the top. After it grows to a certain height, new leaves will slowly sprout. As it grows slowly, there are more and more leaves, and the color of the branches and leaves becomes darker. If it is given a certain amount of sunlight and proper watering, the plant will grow more vigorously.

Asparagus fern planting time and method

Asparagus fern seeds are suitable for germination at a temperature of 18 degrees, so if the ambient temperature is above 18 degrees, they can be sown. Generally, they are sown in spring and autumn. When the temperature is not reached, the sowing time needs to be postponed until the temperature is suitable.

Before planting asparagus fern, the seeds and soil need to be disinfected with carbendazim. Sow the seeds of asparagus fern in the soil with a planting depth of 3 to 5 cm. Cover the flowerpot with a layer of plastic film, spray the soil with an appropriate amount of water, provide a temperature of 20 to 25 degrees, and wait for the seeds to germinate.
