What to do if the leaves of green radish wilt and become soft in winter

What to do if the leaves of green radish wilt and become soft in winter

1. Keep warm in time

Reason: The temperature is low in winter, causing the green radish to freeze. Since it is not cold-resistant, it develops poorly and its leaves wilt.

Solution: Place the green radish in a place with higher temperature indoors in time. Generally, the temperature needs to be kept above 15 degrees so that the plant can safely overwinter. If this temperature environment cannot be met, cover the upper part of the plant with a plastic bag for insulation.

2. Increase watering

Reason: Although less watering is needed in winter, extreme water shortage can also cause the plant to grow poorly, causing the leaves to become soft and wilted.

Solution: Replenish water to the green radish in time to ensure that the water can submerge the roots. You should also check the dryness of the soil more often to avoid it being too dry. You can water it when it is slightly dry.

3. Dealing with root rot

Cause: Root rot in winter is often caused by frostbite. After the roots rot, the water and nutrients are insufficient, and the leaves naturally wilt.

Solution: First, take the green radish out of the pot and wash off the dirt at the roots with clean water. Then check for rot and remove any rotten roots. Soak the wound with carbendazim to avoid infection and disease. After removing it, replant the plant and use sterilized soil to avoid root rot again.
