Peony Growth Environment and Conditions

Peonies prefer a cool growing environment and need sufficient sunlight when growing. They are more tolerant to semi-shady environments and are also more drought-resistant, so their demand for water is not very high when growing. They are mainly distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River in my country, including Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi and other provinces.

Peony Growth Conditions

Peonies like a warm and dry growing environment. They need sufficient light and are afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, they need to be watered in small amounts during their growth, otherwise it will affect their growth.

Peony growth temperature

Peonies need suitable temperatures when they are growing. 2-3 months before flowering, they need to be treated with low temperatures of 1-10 degrees, and then the temperature should be kept between 17-20 degrees during flowering.

Peony flower growth process

When planting peonies, usually division, grafting, sowing and other methods can be used, but the most commonly used method is division, which is carried out from August to October each year. Loose and fertile soil is required. Appropriate amount of watering is required during the seedling stage, and sufficient light must be maintained during the growth period.
