Introduction to the growth of Chinese yamHuaishan usually grows on hillsides, under forests in valleys, in roadside bushes, by streams and in weeds. It is mainly distributed in Japan, Korea and China. Its main production areas in my country are Zhejiang, Hubei, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hebei, Northeast China, Taiwan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Henan and other places. Chinese Yam Growth CycleHuaishan likes to grow in a warm, humid and sunny environment, especially in deep, fertile and well-drained sandy soil. Its growth cycle is generally 1-2 years. Growth rate of Chinese yamThe growth process of yam generally includes five periods, namely the germination period, the early tuber growth period, the peak tuber growth period, the late tuber growth period and the dormant period. Its growth speed is quite fast, with the germination period taking about 25-35 days, the early tuber growth period taking about 60 days, and the peak tuber growth period taking about 60 days. Management of the growth cycle of Chinese yamUnder normal circumstances, the yield of yam per mu can reach 3,800 jin. If calculated based on the current market price, 6 yuan per jin, the output value per mu can reach more than 20,000 yuan, which is still quite considerable. Temperature ManagementThe stems and leaves of Chinese yam prefer high temperatures for growth. The optimum temperature for stem and leaf growth is 25-28℃, the optimum temperature for germination is 25℃, and the underground tubers grow fastest at 20-24℃. Fertilization managementIf more base fertilizer is applied to yam, less or no top dressing should be applied. When the plant grows to about 1 meter above the ground, apply high-nitrogen compound fertilizer once. During the expansion period, multi-element compound fertilizer with high phosphorus and potassium content should be used mainly. In the later growth period, potassium dihydrogen phosphate and urea can be sprayed on the leaves to prevent premature aging. |
