When to change the soil for Molan

When caring for Mo Lan, as long as the temperature is suitable, you can repot and change the soil all year round, but spring and autumn are the best seasons, when it can quickly resume growth after repotting.

In summer, you can change the soil for Mo Lan. When changing the soil, replace half or 2/3 of the old soil, and keep the soil around the roots. After repotting and changing the soil, water it thoroughly, place it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, increase the air humidity, and you can manage it normally after 1-2 weeks.

When should Molan be transplanted?

It is better to change the soil and transplant Mo Lan in September-October in autumn. At this time, the plant has already bloomed, which can promote its healthy growth.

Methods of changing soil and potting for Molan

1. Remove from the basin

First, remove the Mo Lan plant from the pot, then trim some of the old and diseased roots of the plant, and then place it in a cooler place to dry for a while.

2. Soil preparation

Soft planting materials : The materials used are leaf soil, granular wood, garden soil, etc. The soil prepared with these materials has the characteristics of being hard and suitable. It will clump when held by hand, and will spread out after the hand is loosened, which can promote rooting.

Mainly hard planting materials : The materials used are weathered rock particles, small stones, pine bark humus. After mixing the above materials, use the large planting materials at the bottom of the pot, the medium planting materials in the middle, and the small planting materials on the top, which will make it grow stronger and stronger.

3. Change the soil

Change the soil for the Mo Lan plant, pour out the old soil in the flowerpot, fill 2/3 of the new soil in the new pot, stir it and then put a small part into the flowerpot.

4. Planting

Plant the black orchid in a new flowerpot, hold the plant with one hand, fill it with soil with the other hand, compact the surrounding soil, and water it thoroughly.

In addition to changing the soil for Mo Lan when the soil is poor, when you find that the Mo Lan has root rot, you should also repot it in time to avoid the expansion of root rot and the death of the entire plant.

The roots of Mo Lan are fleshy and not resistant to waterlogging, so when changing the soil and repotting, you need to use soil with good drainage that is not prone to water accumulation. In addition, the plant consumes a lot of nutrients during the growth and flowering periods, so the soil for cultivating it also needs to be sufficient in nutrients, preferably acidic soil.
