How to plant rubber trees? Planting time and method

Rubber tree planting time

Rubber trees are propagated by cuttings and are planted between May and September, preferably in May and June.

Rubber tree planting method

First, choose some leaf mold, because the leaves will produce some organic matter after rotting, so the nutrition is better. After the preparation work is done, you can plant the rubber tree seedling in the flowerpot, and be careful not to hurt its roots. Pay attention to the water problem during normal maintenance. Rubber trees like to grow in a humid environment, so watering must be timely.

How to plant the rubber tree I just bought

The rubber tree is a tropical plant. The newly purchased rubber tree should be kept in a place with a room temperature above 22℃.

Rubber trees like fertilizer, but newly bought rubber trees are not suitable for applying high-concentration compound fertilizers. You can use diluted farm manure and apply it according to specific circumstances.

The newly bought rubber tree needs sufficient light and must be placed in a sunny place to allow it to fully absorb sunlight, which will help it adapt to the new environment.

The newly purchased rubber tree needs to have its excess branches and leaves pruned to ensure that nutrients are supplied to the required locations.

How to grow rubber trees quickly

1. Suitable temperature: Control the temperature at 10-25℃. Don’t let the temperature be too low, otherwise the growth rate of the rubber tree will slow down and the leaves will fall.

2. Adequate water: Rubber trees cannot grow without water when they grow rapidly. The soil should not be too dry or too wet, otherwise it will affect its growth. Pay attention to watering thoroughly and do not allow water to accumulate.

3. Adequate light : Appropriate light is conducive to the rapid growth of rubber trees, and sufficient scattered light should be provided during the growth period.

4. Adequate fertilizer : When fertilizing rubber trees, nitrogen fertilizer should be the main fertilizer, supplemented by phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer.

5. Prune frequently: Pruning can not only beautify the shape, but also improve the ventilation and light transmittance inside the plant.

Precautions for potted rubber tree cultivation

The entire rubber tree contains latex, so after each pruning, the cut should be blocked with glue or coated with charcoal powder to avoid excessive juice loss, which would lead to dehydration and death.

When the rubber tree is in the seedling stage, move the flower pot frequently to prevent the plant from growing to one side, which will cause the plant to have an irregular shape and affect its appearance.
