Where is durian suitable for planting?

Durian growing area

Durian generally grows in high-latitude areas with good rain and heat conditions. Its growth requires a warm environment all year round. It is widely distributed in Southeast Asia, the Philippines and southern my country.

Durian is suitable for growing in areas with hot summers and heavy rainfall, with more than eight hours of sunlight all year round and a warm climate in winter. If the soil in the planting area is fertile, it will be more conducive to the growth of durian plants and the ripening of fruits. The south of my country has these conditions, so durian can be grown in the south of my country, and the durian cultivated in Guangxi is the most famous.

Durian Planting Conditions

Durian is suitable for planting in an environment with good lighting conditions and long-lasting high-quality light sources. This can maximize the growth of the plant and make photosynthesis more efficient. It is most suitable for cultivation in a tropical rainforest climate. The minimum temperature standard for durian planting requires an annual average temperature of around 23 degrees.

Key points of durian planting and management

1. Light: Durian is a light-loving plant and can receive full sunlight in areas with strong light. However, in the summer, it needs to be supplemented with sufficient water because the daily water consumption is also very large.

2. Water: When cultivating durian plants, the initial site should be chosen as close to a water source as possible, or where there is a river nearby, because sometimes droughts may occur, and without a water source the plant may die.

3. Fertilizer: Durian is suitable for growing in places with loose and fertile soil. Fertile soil can make the durian fruit fuller and sweeter. If the fertility is insufficient, nitrogen and phosphorus mixed fertilizers can be applied as top dressing.
