How to plant tea tree seeds? Planting methods and management

Tea tree seed growth environment requirements

Tea tree seeds prefer a warm environment and are not cold-resistant. They require an annual average temperature of 16-18 degrees. The temperature during flowering is best at 12-13 degrees. Sudden low temperatures or late frosts will cause flowers and fruits to fall. They require sufficient sunlight and cannot be kept in the shade.

Tea tree seed planting time

The sowing time of tea tree seeds is basically fixed, and they are sown in spring and autumn. The best time in spring is between February and May, and the best sowing time in autumn is August to October.

How to plant tea seeds

Tea tree seeds are sown using the hole sowing method. Before sowing, holes must be dug. The distance between each hole is about ten centimeters and the depth is five centimeters. Two or three seeds are sown in a hole, and then covered with a layer of soil about three centimeters thick, covered with straw, and then watered enough to keep the soil moist.

When planting tea tree seeds, attention should be paid to reasonable density planting to maximize the growth of the tea tree, thereby increasing the yield and achieving a high yield of the tea tree.

In addition, in order to make the tea trees grow faster, the tea tree seeds must be disinfected before sowing, then soaked in cold water for a day, and placed in a cool place to dry. After this treatment, the seeds can germinate faster and better.

Tea tree seed cultivation precautions

After the tea tree seeds are planted, they need to be covered with soil, which is generally about eight to ten centimeters thick. The soil should be cultivated and weeded in advance, and the land should be paved to increase the soil's air permeability and water storage capacity.
