How many years does the Splendid Begonia bear fruit?

The fruit of the splendid crabapple has been planted for several years.

The Splendid Begonia is also called the heart-shaped fruit, crabapple fruit, etc. The plant likes warm and humid conditions, is cold-resistant and drought-resistant, and has low requirements for soil. It is generally planted in April and May. The main production areas in my country include Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Shanxi, Shandong and other places.

If the Splendid Begonia is a seedling, it will take 5-6 years to bear fruit, but the grafted seedling can bear fruit in about 3 years, and the fruit usually matures in early September.

Reasons why the splendid crabapple does not bear fruit

1. In the area where the Splendid Begonia is located, if the soil organic matter content is low and pests and diseases are not properly prevented, the fruit set rate of the plant will also be reduced.

2. The Splendid Begonia has relatively high requirements for light. If there is not enough light during the growth process, the plant will not have flower buds and naturally will not be able to bear fruit.

Planting techniques and key points of Splendid Begonia

1. Planting method

It is best to plant the Splendid Begonia in loose, fertile areas with convenient irrigation. Dig a planting hole of about 30 cm, stretch the roots of the plant into it, cover the soil and compact it. The planting depth should be level with the planting ground.

2. Fertilizer and water management

The hole for the Splendid Begonia should be expanded along the outer edge of the planting pit, and the soil should be deep turned over and a certain amount of organic fertilizer should be added. After entering the fruiting period, high-quality organic fertilizer should be applied once every year after harvest.
