How long is the growth cycle of sisal?

Sisal growth cycle

Sisal is a perennial plant with an average growth cycle of thirteen years and a maximum of 15 years. It blooms only once in between. A mature sisal is more than one meter tall.

Sisal is an economic crop unique to subtropical regions. It is warm-loving and drought-resistant. It can only be grown in some areas of my country, such as Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, etc., and is highly regional.

Sisal growth rate

Sisal grows very quickly and can often grow into a large plant very quickly and then bloom and bear fruit, which is also very beautiful to watch.

Sisal growth cycle management

Temperature management: The best growth temperature for sisal seeds is around 25 degrees Celsius, and the relatively low growth temperature should not be lower than 11 degrees Celsius. The suitable temperature for growth is 27~30℃, and the temperature difference between day and night should not exceed 7~10℃.

Fertilization management: Base fertilizer should be a mixture of manure, green manure, phosphate fertilizer, potash fertilizer and lime, with an application rate of 5000-7500 kg per mu. Topdressing depends on the growth of the hemp plants. Generally, topdressing is done 1-2 times a year, with 1000-1500 kg of organic fertilizer per mu each time, mixed with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Generally, fertilizer is applied in holes before harvesting, and after harvesting, fertilization is done in furrows in large rows for mature hemp.
