What soil is best for bird of paradise?

Bird of Paradise breeding soil

Bird of paradise likes fertile, permeable acidic soil. Sandy soil can be used, but the pH value cannot be alkaline.

Bird of Paradise soil preparation method

Bird of Paradise requires loose and humus-rich soil as its culture soil, which can generally be mixed with garden soil, leaf mold, coarse sand and compost in a ratio of 2:1:1:3. It is advisable to repot once a year during the seedling stage, and once every 2 to 3 years after flowering and mature plants depending on their growth.

Garden soil should be mixed with pine needle soil. You can put some deer manure or sheep manure in the soil appropriately. Put some vermiculite on the bottom of the pot. If there is none, you can put some coal slag to facilitate air permeability.

Things to note when preparing soil for bird of paradise

When using poor soil for bird of paradise, you need to add a certain amount of base fertilizer to help the plant grow. You should also pay attention to sterilization in advance to prevent diseases and pests.
