How to grow Dendrobium to make it bloom

Dendrobium flowering time

Dendrobium usually blooms in April and May every year, and the flowering period is relatively long, but the local climate and planting environment must also be considered. It prefers a warm and humid growing environment. It must have sufficient water during maintenance, and the average temperature must be kept above 8 degrees.

How to cultivate and flower Dendrobium

1. Light and temperature : Dendrobium needs a suitable temperature environment when being maintained. It is best not to be lower than 14 degrees at normal times, otherwise it will affect the formation of flower buds next year. Moreover, it prefers a cool growing environment, so strong sunlight should be avoided during maintenance, otherwise it will affect the amount of flowering.

2. Water and fertilizer management : Dendrobium prefers a humid growing environment, so pay attention to watering when maintaining it in potted plants. The soil needs to be kept moist during the growing period, and some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers need to be applied before flower buds form.

3. Maintenance before flowering : After the growth period ends, Dendrobium needs to be placed in a well-lit place for maintenance so that it can receive more light, which is conducive to the formation of flower buds. In October, it needs to be moved indoors for maintenance, and then watered according to the dryness and humidity of the environment.

4. Flowering period management : The flowering period of Dendrobium is relatively long, so it needs to be watered appropriately after flowering. After the flower buds open and branch out, the humidity of the environment needs to be increased. This can reduce the nutrient consumption of the plant and prolong its flowering period.
