The fruits of Roselle usually mature around November of the lunar calendar, and can then be kept for seeds. Select healthy mother plants, pick the seeds, and dry them in the sun.

Roselle seed propagation

The plant Roselle can be propagated by seeds. The best time to sow it is from April to May each year. At this time, the temperature has begun to rise, and the seeds will germinate soon after sowing, and the germination rate of the seeds will be greatly improved.

How to plant roselle seeds

1. Choose the soil

Roselle is not very demanding on soil, but deep, loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil is best. It is best not to plant it in wetlands or clay soils.

2. Sowing

Before sowing, the seeds of Roselle need to be soaked in warm water for about 12 hours to germinate, and then the hole sowing method can be used. 4-5 seeds can be sown in each hole, and the sowing depth is about 3 cm. After that, cover with a thin layer of soil and wait for germination.
