The difference between verbena and lavender

The difference between verbena and lavender

1. Difference of blades

The leaves of verbena are willow-shaped and arranged in a cross. They are oval in the early stage with slightly notched edges. As the flower stems grow taller, they will turn into slender willow leaves, but there will still be sharp notches on the edges.

Lavender leaves are linear or lanceolate-linear. The leaves on the renewal branches are smaller, clustered, with entire and rolled edges. The midrib is raised underneath, and the reticulate and lateral veins are not obvious.

2. The difference between flowers

Verbena has a cyme inflorescence, with small flowers growing at the top of the flower stems and are lavender or purple-red in color.

Lavender has cymes that grow at the top of branches and gather into spike-shaped inflorescences. They come in a variety of colors, including blue, purple, blue-purple or pink.
