When is the best time to change the pot? Things to pay attention to after changing the pot

Smooth sailing repotting time

The growth rate of the lucky charm plant is relatively fast, so the pot needs to be changed once every one to two years. The best time is March to May in the spring. However, if the plant grows too fast, it can be changed in the fall. Do not do it in the hot summer or cold winter, as it is not conducive to the rooting of the plant and the survival rate is very low.

Smooth sailing repotting method

1. Remove from the basin

Before removing the plant from the pot, stop watering it. After removing it from the pot, clean the old soil at the roots, then cut off the old and rotten roots, apply some wood ash for disinfection, and then place it in a well-ventilated place to dry before planting.

2. Planting

Place the plant in a planting basket and secure it. If you want to grow it hydroponically later, you can add some stones to the hydroponic container and then put the plant in. If you want to grow it in soil, you need to prepare loose, fertile, well-drained soil and a pot with good air permeability. Put some old soil in the center, put the plant in, fill it with new soil, and then water it thoroughly.

Things to note when changing pots smoothly

1. Pay attention to the weather when repotting. It is best to do it on a cloudy day, which will cause less damage to the plant. However, it can also be done on a sunny day without damaging the roots.

2. If you want to grow the plant in soil, you need to prepare a flowerpot that is one size larger than the previous one, because the plant will grow taller and you must provide enough space.

3. After repotting the plant, you can keep it in a well-ventilated semi-shaded place. After it adapts to the new environment, move it to a sunny place for growth. Provide shade in summer.
