Cantaloupe planting time and method

Cantaloupe planting time

There are usually two sowing times for cantaloupe, both in spring and autumn. In spring, it is planted from February to March, while in autumn, it is planted from August to October. The climate environment in these two time periods is more suitable for the growth of cantaloupe, and the seedlings can emerge quickly.

Cantaloupe Planting Methods

1. Seeds: Before sowing cantaloupe, you need to use relatively full and healthy seeds, and they need to be dried and disinfected in advance. After that, the seeds need to be soaked and germinated. When the radicle of the seeds grows to 1-2 mm, they can be planted.

2. Soil: When sowing cantaloupe, there must be suitable soil conditions. It is best to have sandy soil that is rich in organic matter, fertile and well-ventilated, which will be conducive to its growth and development after sowing.

3. Sowing: After the melon seeds are germinated, they can be placed in a nutrient pot containing nutrient soil, and then placed in the fruit field for seedling cultivation. After the seeds grow into seedlings, they can be transplanted.

Notes on cantaloupe planting

1. When caring for cantaloupe, it has relatively high requirements for soil humidity, but relatively low requirements for air humidity, so when caring for it, it is best to control the humidity below 50%.

2. After the cantaloupe is planted, it is best to keep the growth temperature at around 18-25 degrees. When it blooms and bears fruit, the temperature needs to be kept between 22-25 degrees, which is more conducive to its growth.
