A fire broke out in the World Trade Center in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, and all personnel have been rescued

According to reports, a level 3 fire broke out at the World Trade Center in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. At least 14 people have been sent to hospital and nearly 1,200 people have been evacuated. All of them have been rescued and no one is trapped.

At 12:37 today (15th), a fire broke out in the World Trade Center in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The building was undergoing renovation and a large amount of smoke was pouring out from the gaps in the external wall scaffolding.

After receiving the report, the firefighters dispatched two smoke helmet teams (breathing apparatus teams) to start two fire hoses to put out the fire. The fire truck ladder was raised several times to help the trapped people leave, and some people were still trapped in the restaurant in the building.

According to preliminary judgment, about 165 people evacuated on their own, and at least 7 women and 1 man (aged 31 to 72) were suspected to have inhaled smoke and were sent to Ruttonjee Hospital, Eastern Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.

Mr. Liang, who was working in the kitchen of a restaurant on the 12th floor of the World Trade Center at the time of the incident, estimated that there were more than a hundred people in the restaurant. The situation was chaotic and the thick smoke even stained the citizens' masks black.

The area near the scene was filled with smoke, and passers-by had to cover their noses as they walked.

At the time of the incident, there was a restaurant in the mall that was still open. From the video circulating online, it can be seen that smoke suddenly entered the restaurant, and then the lights in the restaurant went out, and the customers left the restaurant one after another. The area near the scene was filled with smoke, and some passers-by had to cover their noses when walking.

The World Trade Center in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, consists of a main building and a podium. The podium is under renovation and is surrounded by construction scaffolding. A large number of firefighters entered from the podium entrance to carry out rescue operations. People walked out of the podium one after another, including pregnant women and the elderly. Some people also needed to be sent to the hospital using oxygen cylinders.

The fire department initially determined that the fire first caught fire in the machine room on the lower floor of the building, and then burned the scaffolding on the building's exterior walls.
