When and how to plant violets

Violet planting time

Violets are generally planted from early August to early October each year. The specific planting time can be adjusted according to the flowering time. If there is a good maintenance environment, its growth time is about 3 months, so if you want to use the flowers in May, you can plant them in February.

How to grow violets

1. Planting method: Violets are generally propagated by planting. You need to select single-petal flowers for seeds, place them in moist potting soil, spread them evenly on the soil, cover them with a thin layer of soil, and place them in a cool environment.

2. Transplanting time: After planting violets, you need to wait until the true leaves unfold before transplanting, pull out the seedlings, do not damage the roots, and retain some soil. Apply enough base fertilizer before transplanting, and water immediately after planting.

3. Later maintenance: Violets need sufficient water and fertilizer during the seedling stage. It is best to water them every other day to keep the soil moist. Fertilization can be done every 10 days, and diluted fertilizers need to be applied.

Things to note when growing violets

1. After planting violets, you need to be careful not to water them immediately. If the soil is dry, you can soak the bottom of the seed pot in water, or use a watering can to sprinkle water on the soil surface.

2. After transplanting, violets need to be placed in a cool place for maintenance. They can only be moved to a sunny place after the root system is stable.
