When and how to plant variegated moss

When and how to plant variegated moss

Planting time of variegated moss

Variegated moss has strong adaptability and is relatively cold-resistant. It can grow healthily in both low and high temperature environments. However, the best time for its growth is early spring and late autumn, when the climate is between 10-20 degrees. After planting, it will grow faster.

How to plant variegated moss

1. Land preparation and fertilization: Variegated moss does not have very high requirements for soil, but in order for it to grow well, it needs to be planted in fertile garden soil. Moreover, its root system is relatively developed, so deep plowing is required.

2. Sowing: Before sowing variegated moss, the soil needs to be watered thoroughly. After the water penetrates, sowing can be carried out. The seeds usually need to be mixed with fine soil and covered with one centimeter of fine soil after sowing.

3. Field management: After sowing, it will take about 4-5 days for variegated moss to sprout. At this time, thinning is needed. When the seedlings grow to 5-6 inches, thinning is needed again. The plant spacing needs to be controlled at 10 cm.

Precautions for planting variegated moss

Variegated moss needs a lot of nutrients during its normal growth, so it is necessary to fertilize it in time. You can use urea, and water it together. Do not provide too much water and fertilizer before winter, otherwise it will cause the plant to grow too tall. It needs to be watered once after winter.
