Cabbage germination time

The germination speed of Chinese cabbage is very fast. If the seeds are soaked in water, they can be unearthed within 2-4 days after planting. If they are not treated, they can sprout at the latest in 4-7 days. If it is winter, the germination time may be longer, and it is possible to sprout in about 10 days.

When and how to sow Chinese cabbage

1. Sowing time: The sowing time of Chinese cabbage is from March to November. Chinese cabbage has strong adaptability. Except for the cold winter, it can be sown at other times. However, it is best to sow in the spring when the environment is suitable and more conducive to the rooting and germination of Chinese cabbage.

2. Seed treatment: Select plump and healthy seeds of Chinese cabbage, soak them in clean water, then take out the shriveled seeds and soak the rest for 2 hours to allow them to absorb sufficient water. Then place them in a well-ventilated place to cool and wait for the moisture on the surface of the seeds to evaporate.

3. Sowing: Add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer to the soil to increase the nutrients, then dig a round hole with a diameter of about 1 cm, sow the seeds in it, and place a Chinese cabbage seed every one centimeter. After sowing is completed, you can water it once.

How to manage Chinese cabbage after it sprouts

1. Watering: There is no need to rush to water the Chinese cabbage after it sprouts. It should be watered immediately after planting, and watered thoroughly. Water it once a day 3-5 days after planting. After that, watering should be adjusted according to the climate. Water frequently when the soil is dry. If it rains, water it after a few days.

2. Fertilization: Fertilizer can be applied after the Chinese cabbage seedlings emerge, usually once a week, but the amount of fertilizer should not be too much, because the Chinese cabbage has a weak ability to absorb nutrients. If too much fertilizer is applied at one time, the roots will burn.
