How long does it take for lettuce to germinate?

Lettuce is the most common vegetable on our tables and in vegetable gardens. It likes coolness and is afraid of cold and heat. The suitable temperature for germination of lettuce seeds is 15-20℃. It will not germinate and grow if it is higher than 25℃ or lower than 8℃. Therefore, it is generally sown in spring and autumn. After germination, it will germinate in about a week.

Lettuce germination time

The seeds of lettuce germinate very quickly. If the surrounding temperature is controlled between 20-25 degrees Celsius, they will generally emerge in about 7 days. If they are sown in spring or raised in a greenhouse, the emergence time will be 10-15 days.

If you want the lettuce to grow faster, you can water it with fermented and diluted rice water or tap water that has been exposed to the sun for about 3 days to make the lettuce mature quickly.

Management of rapeseed after emergence

1. Lighting

During the lettuce seedling period, you must avoid direct sunlight and do not expose it to high temperature light for a long time. Try to use plastic sheets, translucent cotton cloth and other items to provide shade for about three days. Wait until the lettuce seedlings are stable and survive before removing the shade.

2. Moisture

During the growth period of the lettuce, make sure to water it once every night. Water it gently and slowly to prevent the seedlings from being washed down. Do not water it too much, otherwise it will cause the lettuce roots to rot. Just wet the soil at the roots.
