How to grow hydroponic green radish more vigorously in winter

The green ivy has good adaptability and strong vitality, and does not require high growth conditions. However, the hydroponic green ivy prefers warmth and is not cold-resistant. If the temperature is too low in winter, it will suffer frostbite or even die. When caring for the hydroponic green ivy in winter, you need to pay attention to keeping warm.

Key points for hydroponic cultivation of green radish in winter

1. Pay attention to the temperature

In winter, it is best to grow hydroponic green radish in an environment of about 20℃. If the temperature is lower than 5℃, the leaves of the plant will turn yellow or even wither. You can wrap the hydroponic container with cotton cloth to keep it warm. Also pay attention to reduce ventilation to avoid the leaves being blown directly by cold wind.

2. Adequate lighting

Although the green radish is not tolerant to direct sunlight, if it lacks sunlight for a long time, its photosynthesis will be weakened, the leaves will turn yellow and white, and normal growth will be affected. The sunlight is relatively mild in winter, so the hydroponic green radish can be moved to a sunny place to receive scattered sunlight.

3. Change water regularly

If a normally grown green radish is kept in fixed water for a long time, moss will grow in the container and the roots will gradually rot. The water needs to be changed every 20 days or so in winter. The tap water needs to be air-dried for 2-3 days in advance to remove chlorine in the water and ensure that the water temperature is the same as the room temperature. When changing the water, wash off the mucus at the roots of the green radish and clean the container.

Precautions for hydroponic cultivation of green radish in winter

If the temperature is kept suitable in winter, the roots of the green radish will absorb nutrients and water in the water through breathing, and the water level in the vase will lower. If it is not time to change the water yet, you need to add some dried water to the vase first, but don't add too much, just enough to cover the roots, 1/3 or 2/3 of the vase is enough.
