How to grow Selaginella

How to grow Selaginella

1. Maintenance conditions

1. Soil: Generally, we choose river sand and other soils with strong drainage and breathability for breeding, and sandy soil is preferred. Of course, you can use sandy mixed soil to mix and cultivate it yourself.

2. Light: It prefers places with better sunlight, and it is also okay in a cool environment, but it cannot grow in a dark environment for a long time, and should not be placed in direct sunlight.

3. Water: It is drought-resistant and likes to grow in relatively humid places. During the growing season, you need to water the plant sufficiently. You can water it multiple times to keep it moist, but be careful not to use cold water.

4. Fertilization: Generally, no fertilizer is needed in winter. It can be applied appropriately during the growth period. It is recommended to apply fertilizer once every half a month.

5. Repotting: When repotting, do not choose a pot that is too deep. A shallower pot is more suitable. The best time to do this is in spring. Even if you don't change the pot often, you still need to loosen and change the soil regularly.

6. Temperature: The suitable temperature for its growth is about 20℃, but in winter it must be kept above 0℃ so that it can grow normally and avoid frostbite.

2. Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests

Common diseases include leaf spot and anthracnose, which can harm the growth of plants. After discovery, use pesticide spray as soon as possible and persist in using pesticides for prevention and control. Brown scale is the most common pest. You can first deworm manually, or use special deworming agents to deworm.
