Cultivation methods and precautions of Jihonghuayue (How to care for Jihonghuayue succulents)

Jihonghuayue, also known as Jihuayue, is a succulent plant belonging to the genus Qingsuolong of the Crassulaceae family and a variant of the jade tree. Compared with the traditional jade tree, its plant type is relatively short, with a relatively sturdy stem and many branches. However, the plant height generally does not exceed 1 meter, the leaves are round and oval, and they grow opposite to each other, and the leaf color is richer and more varied.

Is the Jihonghuayue succulent easy to grow?

The red moonflower is a relatively easy-to-grow succulent plant . The plant likes light very much and is also relatively shade-tolerant. During the growth period, it only needs to be given sufficient light.

How to cultivate Jihonghuayue

1. Soil

The soil for planting the red moonflower must be loose and breathable , and not often wet. It is recommended to use coarse coconut coir, peat soil, perlite, etc. for preparation.

2. Watering

During the maintenance of the red moonflower, it is necessary to control the watering , otherwise the plant will easily grow too long if there is too much water. It is recommended to spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate once a month to effectively prevent it from growing too long .

3. Lighting

The red moonflower does not require much light. Except for the need for appropriate shade in the summer , it can be given full sunlight in other seasons .

4. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for the red moonflower is 20-25℃ . It must be provided with a suitable temperature during maintenance. The plant can withstand a certain degree of cold, and can withstand a minimum temperature of around -5℃.

5. Fertilization

It is relatively convenient to fertilize the stigma acuminata in June. Generally, it is sufficient to apply bacterial fertilizer once every half a month . However, the amount of fertilizer must be controlled, ventilation must be increased , and excessive growth must be avoided.

Precautions for the maintenance of Jihonghuayue

The plant itself grows very fast, so it is recommended to repot it every 2-3 years . If the soil is fertile, there is no need to apply fertilizer specifically to avoid excessive fertility, which will cause the plant to grow too tall.
