Cultivation methods and precautions of Japanese cinnamon

Osmanthus fragrans is relatively easy to grow. The plant is cold-resistant and drought-resistant, and can be well cultivated in different regions. Even if it is maintained in winter, there is no need to worry about the plant being frostbitten.

Cultivation method of Japanese cinnamon

1. Pot soil

It is best to plant Osmanthus fragrans in a clay pot or a mud pot. As for the soil, it should be loose, fertile, and well-drained. You can prepare it yourself using leaf mold, garden soil, river sand, base fertilizer, etc.

2. Pruning

During the maintenance period, Osmanthus fragrans also needs to be properly pruned, and the plant's overgrown branches, dead branches, diseased branches, and overly dense branches should be cut off in time to reduce unnecessary nutrient consumption.

3. Lighting

Osmanthus fragrans likes sunlight and is relatively shade-tolerant. Except for the summer when the light is too strong, the plant should be exposed to more light at other times, but the plant should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

4. Watering

When watering the Osmanthus fragrans, you should water it when the soil is dry and when the soil surface is slightly dry. It is recommended to water it until water seeps out from the bottom of the pot, but no water should be accumulated.

Matters needing attention in the maintenance of Japanese osmanthus

Osmanthus fragrans is a rare variety of osmanthus. It needs to maintain a warm and moist environment, provide sufficient light, and avoid excessive humidity.
