How to plant crown flower

How to plant crown flower

one. Planting method:

1This plant is usually propagated by seeds, and it can be sown by broadcasting, hole sowing or row sowing. The seed usage per mu is about 0.5-1 kg, and it can be sown in spring, summer or autumn.

2 Since the seeds of this plant are relatively small, the seedbed should be prepared before sowing. Since it is not very demanding on the soil, it can grow healthily in soil with a pH of 5.0 to 8.2. However, since this plant is afraid of waterlogging, the soil for planting has no requirements for acidity and alkalinity, but it must be loose and have good drainage to facilitate the discharge of rainwater and prevent the roots of the plant from rotting and causing the death of the entire plant.

3 The seed defect rate of this plant can be as high as 70% to 80%, so the seeds must be treated to germinate before sowing. If the amount of seeds planted is relatively small, the seeds can be soaked in 15% sulfuric acid solution for 20 to 30 minutes before sowing, or they can be soaked in 70℃ to 80℃ water for about 12 to 15 hours before sowing. If you are planting a large number of seeds, it is best to prepare a rice mill to peel off the seed skin.

4 The seed germination rate of this plant is generally between 40% and 90%. Some of the harder ones will not germinate until the second year.

2. Notes:

1 Since this plant grows very slowly during the seedling stage, if it is not managed regularly, many weeds will grow around it to absorb the nutrients needed by the plant, and the seedlings will not be able to grow healthily. So we need to weed it frequently during its seedling stage.

2 This plant can withstand a certain degree of cold, so it does not need to be kept warm even in winter. It is also relatively drought-resistant, so there is no need to worry about water issues.

3 Once the plant has passed the seedling stage, it can successfully suppress the growth of weeds.
