How to tell if it's time to water your orchid

How to tell if it's time to water your orchid

When watering orchids, you should be careful not to water half of the pot for a long time, otherwise the upper surface of the soil will be relatively moist, while the lower end will still be dry, which will still fail to replenish water. When watering, be sure to water thoroughly at one time so that a little water can flow out from the bottom of the pot.

Orchid watering time

There are four ways to determine whether orchids need watering. You can use bamboo sticks, chopsticks and other tools to insert into the soil to check whether the soil is dry. You can also determine whether it is lacking water by the weight of the soil. You can also prepare a pot with flowers and a pot without flowers and observe the condition of the soil without flowers. Finally, you can directly observe the condition of the soil. Orchids should be watered every few days, and there is no fixed interval. Generally, it is watered according to the water shortage of orchids and the dryness and wetness of the soil. Basically, water when the soil is dry, and then water it enough after the soil is dry.

How to water orchids

The climate is different in different seasons, and the watering intervals are also different. In spring, the growth rate is fast and more water is needed, so you can water it every 2-3 days. In summer, the temperature is high and water evaporates quickly, so you can water it once a day. In autumn, you can water it every 3-5 days. In late autumn, you should reduce watering. In winter, you can water it once every 7-10 days.
