How to make bonsai of Albizia Julibrissin

Select tree species

The best tree species is a tree stump with a plump shape, upright branches, green leaves, and fibrous roots that have not yet become dehydrated.

Generally, you can choose from mountain-collected stakes or ground-cultivated stakes, and select tree species with relatively small, shiny leaves, the ability to be transplanted, the resistance to pruning, and the ease of germination. Tree species with exposed roots and a strong grip on the ground are better.

Choose a flower pot

A shallow pot can show the height of the Albizia Julibrissin, a deep pot can bring out the old stump of the Albizia Julibrissin on the cliff, and a purple clay pot is conducive to support. In short, you have to choose the pot according to the effect you hope to achieve. Different pots will give you different feelings.

Pruning in pots

Choose a suitable flowerpot according to the size of the Albizia Julibrissin tree. First trim the roots, remove the excess bottom roots and overlong roots, place it in the flowerpot, hold the tree with one hand, and fill it with potting soil with the other hand. After filling, compact it with your hands.

Prune the branches of the Albizia Julibrissin tree to remove overlapping branches, crossed branches, whorled branches, and parallel branches. Shorten the top branches and back branches.

Post-planting management

When the Albizia julibrissin is alive in the pot, you should spray water on the branches and leaves frequently and provide appropriate shade.

At this time, if there are new sprouts in the wrong position, they need to be cut off.

Get more sunlight in the summer, but avoid direct sunlight, as overexposure will burn the leaves.

In autumn, pruning, trimming and shaping can be done by using the branch and trunk cutting method, palm fiber tying method, lead wire wrapping method, etc.

Precautions

Pay attention to controlling the moisture during spring germination to prevent the new buds from growing too tall and disrupting the tree shape.

Control watering in mid-April. Water only when the branches and leaves wilt. Repeat 4 or 5 times. If flower buds have not appeared after 20 days, control watering again. This will help the Albizia Julibrissin to bloom early.

After the flower buds appear, strengthen the fertilizer and water management. Insufficient fertilizer and water will cause the flower buds to fall.
