What soil is suitable for planting Polygonatum sibiricum

What soil is suitable for planting Polygonatum sibiricum

The soil for growing Polygonatum is generally loose loam or sandy loam with good water retention capacity, and moist and fully shaded land is more suitable for the growth of Polygonatum after planting.

Polygonatum sibiricum planting soil

Polygonatum sibiricum is suitable for planting in humus soil with fertile soil, deep soil layer, rich organic matter content and good drainage. It can also be planted in sandy soil. When using sandy soil, the soil must be disinfected so that the Polygonatum sibiricum grown will have better quality.

After planting, cover the soil and use diluted nitrogen fertilizer to provide nutrients for the tubers. Water it once, about 500 ml, to keep the soil moist. In addition, Polygonatum sibiricum prefers shade, but it needs an appropriate amount of sunlight during growth. It cannot grow in a position where there is no sunlight at all. You can choose a semi-shaded and semi-sunny planting position, or you can choose a place with shade near the planting site.

Method of mixing soil with Polygonatum sibiricum

When preparing the soil for Polygonatum sibiricum, you can use leaf mold, garden soil and humus soil. Before sowing, the soil should be deeply plowed first to remove impurities and clods of soil. Then, 1,000 kg of farmyard manure should be applied in combination with land preparation, and then turned into the soil as base fertilizer. At the same time, the soil should be raked and leveled, and made into ridges. The width of the ridges is generally about 1.2 meters.
