Durian potted planting methods and techniques

Durian potted planting methods and techniques

The best time to plant potted durian is in spring. Disinfect the soil before planting. Fill the pot with soil about 80%. Pay attention to light and water during maintenance.

How to grow durian in a pot

1. Processing the core

Wash the durian core with clean water, then place it in a ventilated place to dry, then soak it in warm water for about 24 hours. Cut one side of the core so that you can see the buds slowly sprouting.

2. Plant in pots

Before planting potted durian, you need to prepare a large flowerpot, fill it with loose and breathable soil, and mix in some large sand particles, then plant the germinated fruit core in it, making sure the bud point is facing downwards, and then cover it with a thin layer of soil to keep the soil moist.

Durian potted planting method

Durian potted plants are generally planted using seeds. Before planting, separate the seeds, take out the seeds inside, wash them, and then place them in warm water to germinate. After sprouts grow, they can be planted.

Key points for potted durian maintenance

1. Potted durian is relatively drought-resistant and does not need to be watered every day. Just wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. The soil humidity should be kept at around 35%.

2. The demand for fertilizer for potted durian gradually increases in the later stage of growth. At this time, top dressing should be applied in time, and the use of phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer should be increased during the fruiting period.
