How to fertilize violets

How to fertilize violets

1. Fertilization method

1. Base fertilizer: Violets need nutrients to maintain their growth period, so enough base fertilizer should be applied when planting. It is recommended to use livestock manure and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. The nutrients in the growing soil will increase, and the plants will grow better in a soil environment with sufficiently high fertility.

2. Fertilization during the growth period: During its vigorous growth stage, fertilizer should be applied every 2 weeks, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, and be careful not to use too much nitrogen fertilizer. You can use liquid fertilizer with lower concentration, cake fertilizer water, livestock manure, or apply homemade fruit peel organic fertilizer. In addition, it is best to apply calcium phosphate before it blooms, which is beneficial to its flowering.

2. Precautions

Be careful every time you apply fertilizer. The amount of fertilizer should not be too much. If too much fertilizer is applied for a long time, the plant will grow too tall and the roots will rot, and it may not bloom. Don't splash fertilizer onto the leaves of the plant when fertilizing, because the fertilizer will burn the leaves, causing them to rot and reduce their ornamental value. Also, the temperature will rise rapidly during the hot summer, so it is best not to apply fertilizer at this time.
