Breeding methods and precautions of water hyacinth

Breeding methods and precautions of water hyacinth

1. Water quality

Water hyacinth is usually grown in aquatic culture, so water control is very important. It should be cultivated in a place with slow water flow and shallow water. The flower stem can grow as long as it touches water, but the ovary can only develop in water, so the water must contain not only oxygen but also nutrients.

2. Temperature

It is suitable for growing in an environment where the water temperature is 18 to 23 degrees. The maximum temperature cannot be higher than 38 degrees and the minimum temperature cannot be lower than 10 degrees, otherwise it will stop growing. In winter, you can use a heating rod to increase the temperature.

3. Lighting

It likes light very much, and it is best to give it full light when growing it. If it is placed in a cool, dark place, it will lead to poor development, the number of flowers will also decrease, and it may also cause the plant to wither. However, when the light is too strong, it is still necessary to shade it to avoid sunburn of the branches and leaves.

4. Fertilization

During the maintenance and management period, fertilizer should be applied frequently, about once every half a month to twenty days. The fertilizer should mainly be decomposed manure or diluted ammonium sulfate. Note that the concentration should be low because it is easy to reproduce.

5. Notes

In the early stages of growth, it is easy to be affected by weeds or moss, which will rob nutrients and slow down the growth rate, so be sure to remove them in time. In addition, it is prone to aphid infestation and should be sprayed with pesticides for prevention and control.
