How to grow oleander

How to grow oleander

1. Maintenance conditions

1. Watering: It is important to control the amount of water when caring for oleander. Improper watering may cause the plant to die. You can water the plant every day in spring, and twice a day in summer when the temperature is slightly higher. You should also spray water to clean the dust on the leaves. Watering should be restrained in winter.

2. Fertilization: Apply about 20% base fertilizer when potting. Apply fertilizer once before Qingming Festival, and apply bean cake water once every 10 days after Qingming Festival; apply fertilizer again after the autumnal equinox, and apply fertilizer once every 10 days after the autumnal equinox.

3. Pruning: The plants need to be pruned in spring, and all branches that are too long and weak should be cut off. Overcrowded branches also need appropriate thinning so that the plant can grow fuller.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Sowing method: Generally, wait until the fruit is ripe and then harvest and sow it. After sowing, put the potting soil in the greenhouse, and seedlings will grow in 3 months.

2. Water insertion method: During its growth period, use a knife to cut a branch of about 30 cm, cut the bottom about 4-6 cm with a knife, and insert it into a container of water. New roots will grow in about half a month. Note that you need to change the water in time before rooting.

3. Disease prevention and control

The main diseases that harm plants are brown spot disease and black spot disease, so regular management is needed. When planting, do not plant too densely and apply appropriate fertilizer to make the plants grow stronger. After the disease occurs, the diseased leaves need to be cleaned up in a concentrated manner. In serious cases, carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl should be sprayed for prevention and control.
