Why are the eggplant seedlings not growing well? (Why are the eggplant seedlings not growing well?)

“Vegetables grow in the soil, and they will have a good harvest with water and fertilizer.” But why do the eggplants in your field look half-dead even though they have both water and fertilizer?

Do you know that “if the land is not prepared, the seedlings will not grow; if the base fertilizer is insufficient, the seedlings will not be vigorous”, “if the roots are straight and the seedlings are straight, the gourds will also be straight; if the roots are crooked and the seedlings are crooked, the gourds will be crooked”, and “if the roots are not straight, the seedlings will be crooked, and the dyeing workshop will not be able to produce white cloth”?

First, prepare the land, apply enough fertilizer, and transplant at the right time to achieve many benefits.

Although the main root of eggplant is thick and can penetrate deep into the soil to more than 1 meter, its lateral roots are not the same and can only move in the soil layer about 30 centimeters near the surface.

So we should plow the soil deeply, to a depth of about 40 cm.

Eggplant root regeneration ability is very poor, once damaged, it is difficult to regenerate adventitious roots, so try to avoid root damage when transplanting. Pay attention to the transplanting time, that is, strong seedlings with 4 true leaves are better transplanted on sunny days.

The base fertilizer should be applied sufficiently, such as decomposed human and animal manure, superphosphate, wood ash, compound fertilizer, etc., but attention should also be paid to the amount of fertilizer applied.

If the above points are not done well, it would be strange if the eggplant grows well! That is, "if the land is not prepared, the seedlings will not grow well, and if the base fertilizer is not enough, the seedlings will not grow well."

Second, the root is the mouth of the crop. Good teeth lead to a good appetite and a healthy body.

During the growth process of eggplant seedlings, they are very likely to develop a disease - root wilting. Is it similar to human "yang"?

Eggplant "root wilt" means that no new roots appear at the root, the root bark rots, the above-ground part gradually shrinks, and the edges of the leaves dry up.

Think about it, if the root, that is, the mouth, is in trouble, can you eat and drink well? If you don’t eat and drink well, can you grow taller? So it “wilts” and “droops”, and is not prosperous.

There are many reasons for the root wilting of eggplant seedlings, such as low ground temperature, inactivity of the roots, and unwillingness to eat and drink. The above-ground part will lack water and nutrients, and thus stop growing, manifesting as wilting and yellowing of leaves and other signs of water and malnutrition.

Root wilting can also occur due to continuous rainy days, because high soil humidity causes low ground temperature.

Generally speaking, eggplant seedlings with light green leaves, long petioles and a tendency to grow tall are more likely to suffer from root wilt; while eggplant seedlings with dark green and purple leaves and thick stems are less likely to suffer from root wilt.

However, if the eggplant seedlings wilt and grow poorly due to pests and diseases or excessively dry soil, this is not root wilting, so be careful to distinguish them.

If the eggplant seedlings do not grow vigorously due to root wilting, you can pay attention to drainage, increase soil temperature, keep the soil low and moist when it is cold, expose it to more light when the light is good during the day, pay attention to the distance between the seedlings, that is, the density, etc., to prevent the eggplant seedlings from wilting their roots and allow them to thrive.

This is the result of "the roots are straight and the seedlings are good", otherwise, "if the roots are not straight, the seedlings will be crooked and the dyeing room will not be able to produce white cloth".

These are some common reasons why eggplant seedlings do not grow vigorously . It may also be related to other reasons such as pesticide damage, fertilizer damage, weed damage, disease and insect pests, and insufficient seedling hardening. We can only hope that you can pay attention to identification and treat the symptoms .
