Cultivation methods and precautions of autumn peony

Cultivation methods and precautions of autumn peony

1. Potting soil

Autumn peony is very short and suitable for growing in pots. When breeding, just choose a pot with a diameter of 15 to 20 cm. The soil can be prepared by mixing garden soil, wood ash and water, which can basically meet the growth needs.

2. Light temperature

It likes light, but not strong light, especially the afternoon light in summer. It must be covered with a shade net in time, as strong light will burn the plant. In addition, its cold and high temperature resistance are not high, so it needs to be moved indoors for maintenance in winter and provided with an environment above 10 degrees. In the hot summer season, you should water more and ventilate to cool down.

3. Water and Fertilizer

It is drought-resistant and does not require excessive or frequent watering during maintenance. Do not water it unless the soil is dry to avoid waterlogging. However, fertilizer should be applied frequently, usually once every half a month, and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be used. Especially before flowering, you need to add more nutrients and use more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, so that it can bloom smoothly and extend the flowering period.

IV. Precautions

During maintenance, be sure to change the pot once a year, because once the soil becomes hardened, it will seriously affect its growth. When repotting, use a larger pot and trim off rotten roots. This way, there is enough space for growth and it can absorb nutrients better so that it can grow more vigorously in the later stage.
